"instrumenting the Great Barrier Reef"
Database, SRB Deployment and Data StreamingAIMS provided a Microsoft Access database with more than 1 millions entries for this project. Records include dates, temperature measurements, data loggers. The database was migrated to PostgreSQL.
We are using the SRB in order to interconnect a variety of different file systems (linux, windows, etc) and storage resources as well as to facilitate queries of SRB-enabled distributed databases.
SRB client and server have been
installed on two local linux machines and tested.
Metadata Creation
In order to integrate the collected data with the SRB, we have developed a metadata catalog (MCAT) for these data as well as what will be needed for the streaming data.
Data can now be queried with an SRB
client.
Data StreamingWe have connected several thermocouples to a NANO-7240 ULV Celeron 400MHz Single Board Computer. The thermocouples are currently measuring the temperatures near the fan of several computers.
Streaming of these temperature data and
integration to the existing database is currently under progress
