AGVCR
Packages for SlackwarePlease note that these are OLD instructions which remain here for archival or unusual installation situations only.
Please use the slapt-get mechanism for AG toolkit installation, as described here
The AGVCR program is developed by Derek Piper of Indiana University Bloomington. Please see the AGVCR Project page for full details about the program itself. Packages for Windows, MacOSX, Fedora Core 5 and Debian Sarge are available from the AGVCR Downloads page.
The additional AGVCR packages available here are for Slackware Linux 11.0 and 12.0
They have been tested locally and appear to work fine. Please advise of any other quirks or difficulties concerning the packaging to the contact email address below.
Installation
Download the latest appropriate (i386 or x86_64) agvcr .tgz package file from:
http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/research/accessgrid/software/slackware/SL-12.0
(or http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/research/accessgrid/software/slackware/SL-11.0)
Now, in the directory where the .tgz is saved, run something like:
sudo /sbin/installpkg agvcr-2.2.1-i386-1.tgz
(the exact package name will vary, depending on version and architecture)
Running AGVCR
Following installation, AGVCR can be started either by running the command agvcr from a shell, or from the AGVCR item in the Access Grid 3 main menu.
An alternative method is to launch it via an AGVCR Launcher Shared Application session from within an AccessGrid venue. See the AGVCR Launcher installation instructions for further details.
