The AG3 packages available here are preliminary releases for testing purposes. They are made on and for the current Debian stable branch, sarge. These packages are a first cut and we'd appreciate receiving any feedback from users that may help us fix any problems.

Automatic method (using Synaptic):

First, some packages from backports.org are required; then some packages from this site. Please add the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
    deb http://www.backports.org/debian sarge-backports main contrib non-free
    deb http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debian sarge/

Next, open the Synaptic Package Manager and reload the package information (use the Reload button, or select Reload Package Information from the Edit menu). Now search for and install the accessgrid package. A number of prerequisite packages should also be automatically installed (for a full list, see below in the Manual installation section).


Manual method:
Download and install the following packages (and whatever dependencies they entail):

from any regular Debian sarge repository -

from backports.org -

agm2crypto
agtwisted-core
pyopensslag
bajjer
agzsi
agcommon
mdnsresponder
pybonjour
wxmozilla
accessgrid

Should be set to go now - look in the new "Access Grid 3" entry in the main menu (assuming Gnome desktop).

The AG3 packages for Debian sarge are available from the download directory

Apart from the above, there are no known issues i.e. it works for me! Please advise of any difficulties so they can be addressed and hopefully fixed.
