FreeBSD AccessGrid packages

The FreeBSD packages for the latest AG2 versions of the AccessGrid software are available on the Asia-Pacific AccessGrid website. They are developed and maintained by Chris Willing, of UQ Vislab.

Installation Instructions and Notes

A base FreeBSD 5.4 system is assumed. You will need to be root user to perform the installation. Ensure that the following prerequisite packages/ports are installed:

python2.4
wxmozilla
py-bsddb
py-bsddb3

In addition, menu entries will work with the gnome desktop - therefore the following additional packages/ports are recommended:

gnome2-lite
gdm2

Now,

unpack the download bundle
enter the directory created by the unpacking
run the installation script

using the commands:

tar zxvf AccessGrid-2.4-py2.4-i486-1.tgz
cd AccessGrid-2.4-py2.4-i486-1
sh install.sh

Log in again as an ordinary user before running the toolkit software.
Run the software by selecting Venue Client from the Applications menu's Access Grid group.
