 AG3 for Debian "sarge"

Overview
The AG3 packages available here are made on and for the previous Debian stable branch, sarge. These packages may still need some fine tuning with regard to dependency specifications, but otherwise provide complete AG3 functionality for the sarge environment. We'd appreciate receiving any feedback from users that may help us fix any problems.

Also available, AG3 for Debian etch
Also available, AG3 for Ubuntu 6.10 edgy

Installation
Automatic method (using Synaptic):
First, some packages from backports.org are required; then some packages from this site. Please add the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
    deb http://www.backports.org/debian sarge-backports main contrib non-free
    deb http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debian sarge/

Next, open the Synaptic Package Manager and reload the package information (use the Reload button, or select Reload Package Information from the Edit menu). Now search for and install the accessgrid3 package. A number of prerequisite packages should also be automatically installed (for a full list, see below in the Manual installation section).

Manual method:
Download and install the following packages (and whatever dependencies they entail):
from any regular Debian sarge repository -
python2.3-xml
python2.3-zopeinterface
vncserver
xvncviewer
xterm
twm

from backports.org -
python-wxgtk2.6
python-feedparser
agm2crypto
agtwisted-core
pyopensslag
bajjer
agzsi
agcommon
mdnsresponder
pybonjour
wxmozilla
accessgrid3

Should be set to go now - look in the new "Access Grid 3" entry in the main menu (assuming Gnome desktop).
