Installation
1. Using Synaptic:
- update the package information (use the Reload button, or select Reload Package Information from the Edit menu).
- search for and install the beacon package.
- from the command line, run:
sudo apt-get update
and then
sudo apt-get install beacon
3. Using dpkg:sudo apt-get update
and then
sudo apt-get install beacon
- download the latest appropriate (i386
or amd64) beacon .deb package file
from one opf the following:
http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debuntu/gutsy/
http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debuntu/feisty/
http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debuntu/etch/
- in the directory where the .deb is saved, run something like:
sudo dpkg -i beacon-1.3_i386.deb
(the exact package name will vary, depending on version and architecture)

http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debuntu/feisty/
http://www.vislab.uq.edu.au/debuntu/etch/
- in the directory where the .deb is saved, run something like:
