| Seminar: Java based
GUI for Scalable Vis Tools. |
Thursday 12 April |
| Alex Decastro from the San
Diego Super-computing Center (UCSD) will talk about a project he's been
working on: the Multi-Mesh Viewer Software Application
at VisLab-ATP on Thurs 12 Apr. 11am.
The Multi-Mesh Viewer supports interactive viewing of
multi-modal, multi-resolution volume data. It allows users to
interactively view and manipulate large-scale volume data, then
generate volume rendered images.
The Multi-Mesh Viewer integrates with the NPACI
Scalable Visualization Toolkits to access large-scale volume data. In
particular, it uses the Mesh Toolkit to scalably access mesh data. The
Multi-Mesh Viewer also interfaces with the VISTA Volume Renderer to
generate volume rendered images.
The client is implemented as a Java application to run
on any platform that supports the Java Runtime Environment (JRE 1.3)
and Java3D. Current implementations exist for MS Windows and SGI Irix.
