Locating Straight Lines in Noisy Images with the Hough Transform

ABSTRACT

This project investigates the problem of detecting a straight line in a noisy image. Using Matlab, a straight line was embedded in an image containing uniformly distributed noise. A program was written to locate particular coordinates which describe the line. These coordinates enable the reconstruction of the line in a separate image without noise. The coordinates of the line are found using the hough transform.
