Tom Defanti visits UQVislab

Following his keynote speech at IEEE VR 2011 in Singapore, Professor Tom Defanti (Calit2, EVL labs) has been visiting the UQVislab for the last few days. Renowned as co-inventor of the Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) and co-director of the OptIPuter project, Tom was able to provide valuable insights into our scientific visualisation research in the lab. He was also able to preview the first demonstration of our ultra high resolution web browser for the OptIPuter's Scalable Adaptive Graphics Environment (SAGE). See Calit2's newsroom report of the visit.
